What's different about Pet Grooming & Daycare in Jacksonville
Hurricane season runs June through November, which overlaps most of the year people board pets and most of the wedding calendar. For boarding, the question worth asking is what the evacuation plan actually is — where the animals go, who transports them, and how you are contacted when cell service is patchy. A facility that has thought it through will tell you without hedging.
How to choose a groomer or daycare
Your pet cannot tell you how the visit went, so trust signals matter. For grooming, look for someone experienced with your breed and comfortable with your pet’s temperament; a good groomer asks about behavior, health, and exactly the cut you want before starting. For daycare, ask how dogs are grouped by size and energy, the staff-to-dog ratio, and what vaccinations are required.
Visit in person if you can — a clean, calm facility with happy animals tells you a lot. Read recent reviews for mentions of how the staff handle anxious or senior pets. Be wary of any place reluctant to show you where the animals stay, and confirm they know how to reach you and your vet in an emergency.
Frequently asked questions
How much does dog grooming cost in Jacksonville?
A full groom is priced by your dog’s size, coat, and condition, with extras like de-matting or special shampoos costing more. À la carte services such as a nail trim or bath cost less. Ask for a quote based on your breed.
What vaccinations does daycare require?
Most facilities require core vaccines — typically rabies, distemper, and bordetella (kennel cough) — and proof before the first visit. Requirements protect every pet there, so a reputable daycare will not make exceptions.
How often should my dog be groomed?
It depends on the coat. Long-haired and double-coated breeds often need grooming every four to eight weeks, while short-haired dogs can go longer. Regular brushing at home stretches the time between visits.
Will my pet be safe and supervised?
A good facility groups dogs by size and temperament, keeps a sensible staff-to-dog ratio, and has staff trained to spot trouble. Ask about supervision, rest periods, and emergency procedures before booking.
Why you can trust this list
Every business featured on TopRatedJacksonville has earned at least a 4.0-star rating from 15 or more real customer reviews — if a company has not cleared that bar, you will not find it here. Those scores come from aggregated public reviews, not from us, and a business cannot pay to raise its rating.
We update our data periodically so the groomers you see reflect how they are serving Jacksonville today. Listings marked as verified have confirmed their business details directly.
